Raised in Norfolk, Maya's music invites you on a journey navigating the world as a queer woman dealing with her mental well-being whilst encountering love, heartbreak and life.

Early collaborations with Allergy Kid led to the release of the critically acclaimed mixtape “Her or Him” in 2016. Following the release Maya’s 2018 single “Full Circle” earned radio plays from Radio 1Xtra and BBC Radio 6 Music and saw Maya named among Radio 1’s Huw Stephens’ Tips for 2019.

Debut EP “Hitchhiking” released in 2021, was crafted alongside MOBO grant awardee Freya Roy and producer Lavar Bullard (Akala, Natty, Pixx). It found Maya moving from R&B towards the confessional songwriting that would become her trademark.

Another hit collaboration – with Mom Tudie on “Gold” – and plaudits from New Wave, Clash, Rebecca Judd and Jamz Supernova soon followed.

2023 has seen Maya release a string of songs including “Mother Tongue” which explored the singer's struggle to connect with parts of her dual heritage, whilst “Bad Guy” is the soundtrack to queer heartbreak.

‘Losing It All’ landed her a place on BBC Radio 1Xtra as their Latitude Artist 2023 and she’ll be celebrating the year with her first London headline this December at The Social.

With more breathtaking tracks on the way, in the words of Earmilk: “It’s time to get familiar with the name Maya Law."

“Mixing influences from Jazz, Neo Soul, Hip Hop and Folk, Maya Law is on to something special” – Wordplay
